VDI INFORMATION
The new German standard VDI 2700 8.1 and 8.2 on vehicle transport safety was definitively published on 01/09/2024.
The new regulation involves all vehicle transporters that circulate and transit on German territory, regardless of the country of registration and for its application the vehicles and their load safety elements must be verified, certified and being compliant.
ROLFO has actively collaborated for several years with the working group dedicated to the drafting of the standard and is ready to support you in this process, so that your vehicle does not suffer load restrictions from clients and law enforcement agencies when the rule will be operating.
The issuing of the certification by the car transporter manufacturer, according to the new standard, can only take place when:
-
The vehicle has been checked in accordance with the “Assessment to Standard VDI 2700 Edition 1” and the duly completed inspection report has been returned to Rolfo
-
The related invoice has been regularly paid
The verification process can be started in advance, though. For this reason, ROLFO has prepared a document to help you carry out the necessary checks (Assessment to Standard VDI 2700 Edition 1) and return the report to us. The inspections can be carried out independently or contacting accredited entities.
The collection and management of your requests and data will be carried out via an online system that you will find by connecting to the website:
Through your credentials, you can access the dedicated page and request the certification for your vehicle.
If you do not have the credentials yet, you can request them by sending an email to the following address:
Since the new regulation also involves load safety elements such as wedges and belts, ROLFO is ready to supply you with these compliant elements, according to the availability of the supply related to the considerable demand on the market of these items.
The vehicles that ROLFO can currently certify cover the vast majority of its products from 2012 up to today. If your vehicle is not included among these ones, you must contact ROLFO by sending a request to:
to verify the viability and possibly plan the necessary tests for the new certification.
